Ah, love wins out!

At Garland Resort, the winters are tamer due to the addition of all the creature comforts befitting a luxury resort. But with our snowy backdrop and pristine wintertime conditions, we are able to replicate a little bit of Cold War Russia for lovers everywhere.

Zhivago Night at Garland:

Steeped in romance, nestled in luxury.

It began as a novel that the author, Russian poet Boris Pasternak, saw rejected by Soviet publishers and had to literally sneak out of Russia to have published in Italy in 1957 …

In 1958, Dr. Zhivago was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature …

In 1965, the novel was made into a motion picture …

A Russian epic, the movie traces the life of surgeon-poet Yuri Zhivago before and during the Russian Revolution. Married to an upper-class girl who is devoted to him, yet in love with an unfortunate woman who becomes his muse, Zhivago is torn between fidelity and passion …

A timeless story, the novel and the movie have inspired romance and love for the past five decades. One of the facets of the story that makes it so endearing is that this love, this passion could burn so brightly set amid the cold, stark reality of Russian winters and political turmoil.

Compressing the novel into a movie was no small task.

Neither is describing Zhivago Night at Garland.
