<p>Mark your calendars!  It is official, we will celebrate July 4th with our fireworks and other special events on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012.</p>
<p>Everyone is welcome for the event at Dusk. Parking will be across from the main entrance.  There will be entertainment before and after, and barbeque specials available on the Patio.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for more details as we have them. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Garland Lodge and Resort is happy to announce the additions and renovations we have planned for 2012.  Currently under construction are a new spa, renovations on our pool and fitness center and a re-purposing of some of the space into an intimate coffee and wine bar.  Check out the details below, and let us know what you think.</p>
<p><strong>New Spa</strong> &#8211; Garland Lodge and Resort is pleased to announce the development of a new spa in the lower level of the main lodge.  The four room spa area is currently being finalized and will be completed by our spring opening date of May 11th.  It is going to be 1,300 square feet and will be a self-contained, cozy, warm, and relaxing environment.  Members and guests will be able to experience high quality, personal care, service from manicures to pedicures, hair designs and of course numerous massage treatments.  Stay tuned as we develop our menu items.</p>
<p><strong>Pool and Fitness Center Renovation</strong> &#8211; Yes, we have begun renovating the existing indoor pool and fitness center area. The project will tie-into the overall fitness-wellness commitment Garland is making to its members and guests. This project will be completed for our Spring opening as well.</p>
<p><strong>Coffee and Wine Bar</strong> &#8211; The main lodge gift shop will be transformed into a very intimate coffee and wine bar. This new area will give you a rustic and comfortable feel to stimulate members and guests to drop in, relax, and enjoy the assorted beverages, light snacks, and even cater to special and personalized events. Meet your friends here before dinner!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Garland Lodge and Resort is honored to announce the newest members of our team. Mr. Jesse Ziobron has accepted the position of Food and Beverage Director. He is joined by Jessica Ziobron who will be our new executive chef. Jesse and Jessica come to us from Otsego Club and Resort, in Gaylord, MI, where Jesse was the Food and Beverage Director and Jessica was the executive chef. They held food and beverage positions for the past twelve years. Jesse’s experience includes a stint as executive chef and therefore gives him a deep understanding of matching great food with fantastic wines, craft brews and locally crafted spirits. Also having extensive experience in developing membership relations, Jesse has the tools to lead the Garland culinary team to the next level.</p>
<p>Our new executive chef Jessica was the winner of “Best Food” 2010 and 2011 for the Taste of Gaylord annual event. Jessica has trained with some of the best culinary schools and restaurants in the U.S. She focuses on exceptionally fresh ingredients, outstanding flavors and incredible presentations. One of Jessica’s highlights is to serve “Up North” culinary selections to visitors from around the world.</p>
